When looking to purchase a solar system for your property whether it be residential or commercial. There may be some help from the Government you may be eligible for.
Federal Rebate - STC Incentive
This rebate is available to most residents around Australia depending on where you live and the amount you are eligible for is depending also on the size of the system.

Federal Battery Rebate
The Australian federal government offers the Cheaper Home Batteries Program, which provides a rebate of approximately 30% off the upfront cost of a small-scale home battery system. This program began on July 1, 2025, and is administered through the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES). The discount is delivered through Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs) and applies to systems with a usable capacity between 5–50 kWh that are connected to new or existing rooftop solar. Eligibility also requires that the battery and system components are on the SAA approved products list.

NSW Government Battery Incentives
If you're located in New South Wales, you may also be eligible for additional state government support.

Available incentives include:

Up to $15,000 zero upfront loan for eligible battery installations.

Up to $4,000 in discounts for eligible battery systems.
Eligibility
You may qualify if you can answer Yes to the following:

Is your home valued at less than $3 million according to your council rates notice?

Have you not installed solar at this or another property within the past 10 years?

Is your combined household income below $210k a year, based on your latest ATO Notice of Assessment?

REBATE
Victoria Solar Rebate & Solar Loan
Victorian homeowners may be eligible for both a Solar Rebate and a Solar Loan through the Victorian Government.

Solar Loan
Eligible applicants can access a $1,400 zero upfront loan, repaid over 48 months at approximately $29.16 per month.

You may qualify if you can answer Yes to the following:

Is your combined household income below $150k a year, based on your latest ATO Notice of Assessment?
